Adobo 'to

ADOBO is probably the most popular Filipino dish and perhaps every Filipino's favorite! Like if I were asked what's my top 10 favorite food, I'd go for Adobo at the top of my head. Adobo is the perfect mixture of sweet, sour, salty and a little spicy. The ingredients make the Adobo really really unique and perfect to be paired with rice. Like everytime I'd eat Adobo, whatever man ang style, I must have RICE to go with it! It can stand alone, but if you want to feel completely satisfied, you should eat it with rice.

I have tasted several styles of Adobo - from my Auntie's Adobo (which I used to think was the best Adobo ever); then my Papa's Cebu Style Adobo (marinated with natural vinegar and just completely extract the oil from the pork); then my Boss' Mother's Adobo; and then there's ADOBO 'TO's Adobo.

All the photos that I have here is my FAVORITE ---- Cheesy Pork Adobo!
It may sound weird at first, especially for those who finds cheese weird - but  love cheese eh, plus I love Adobo - so it was kinda weird at first, but after putting it on my mouth, heavenly sensation lang talaga.

Actually the first time we visited their branch in Blessings, I ordered Sisig. It was a lot different from the normal sisig, for reasons I cannot recall. I've had those last year pa during our internship in college. Their sisig was good - it's just too bad they don't offer it on their Strata branch coz' their booth is right beside a sisig store. I would've wanted them to offer it padin kasi ang chaka nung sisig sa kabila eeh. Hahahaha. I mean, my type of Sisig kasi is yung mala'Gerry's Grill or Gilligan's na sisig - crispy na medyo moist. Oh well.

The Adobo Meal comes with atsara (?) and egg...

The Verdict: 4.5/5 - I have always been coming back for more since my first time with it. I have even research about their other locations, asked questions on their Facebook page to check if they have a branch near our office - and they do!! The day after, I went to Strata and found 'em! Their Adobo is so unique and tasty - that I have even advertised about it's goodness to my officemates and relatives and to almost everyone I meet na naghahanap ng masarap na food. Another thing I have realized is the egg is a good neutralizer especially when the Adobo is too salty (plus the cheese pa). I kind of slice them into pieces (shown in the photo above) and mix it with the Adobo - and for me, it's heaven!! Aargh! As I am writing this now, I could literally feel the chills, na parang I want to have this meal tomorrow! Hahahahahaha But seriously guys, you should try it. Maybe someday we'll be amazed they'll decide to open a couple more branches like what Mang Inasal did.

Recently though, since it has become a City Ordinance in Pasig to Ban Plastics, they put them on a paper-bowl thing which is kinda OKAY for me since the sauce in placed na on the rice.Sad thing lang is medyo konti nalang yung serving ng Adobo. Huhuhuhu Nonetheless, I still love ADOBO 'TO Cheesy Pork Adobo - kahit medyo hindi accomodating si Kuya na nagbabantay. Hikhikhik

Visit ADOBO 'TO in Blessings in Ayala, Makati, and Strata 2000 in Emerald St. Ortigas, Pasig City. For more info, visit their Facebook Page: Adobo 'to

"Ice Cream is My Life" - SWENSEN'S

I think it's safe to say that almost everyone of us loves ice cream - even the lactose intolerant, hence, they would have not created the lactose-free ice creams!! Ice creams are just one of the best creations ever made and I thank the Chinese for inventing this certain device to make ice cream - which initiated the worldwide ice cream phenomenon - which also lead to my ice cream addiction! Nyay! (souce: wikipedia)

Speaking of ice creams, 2 weeks ago, during the Lucy Hale in Manila event, we came across this ice cream store in the SM Mall of Asia named SWENSEN'S. To be honest, I was kinda hesitant to go in because my wallet was not at her best. *You know what I mean, right?* Anyhow, as we went in, and I literally fell in love with the place as the ambiance was perfect! We sat on the couch and our view was just magnificent. *Do not expect for too much when I use these terms, okay? Hahahaha* If you are a food lover just like me, you would feel the same way as I do. The friendly waiter named "Clinton" handed the menu, and everything in there was just all about ICE CREAM! I could literally feel the ripple of excitement as I feast my eyes on the menu! :) As stated on their logo, "Ice Cream is my Life!"

The Menu

Algen and I --- with the Menu :)

We both had Waffle with Reversible Choco Sundae!!

How can you not fall in love with their unique glass?!! ☺

After that week, I swore I would go back to Swenssens and perhaps try the other stuff that they have... but I was so in love with their waffles so I ordered the same thing. This time, I came there with Claire and she also ordered Waffles Sundae - but we had different sundae flavors though.

Claire had Caramel Sundae *forgot the exact name though*

... I had blueberry, which I thought was so-so. It was too sour for me and it didn't go well with the choco and the waffles. It was weird because I am a self-confessed Froyo Addict but for some reasons, the sourness of the blueberry wasn't as appealing.. Maybe, the blueberry wasn't suppose to be paired with the waffles.. #JustSayin'

While waiting for their order/s, a typical Filipino would... Take a lot of pictures to document everything - from waiting, to during and to ending! Hahahahahaha

THE VERDICT: 4.5/5 - I would definitely go back and really try all their stuff!! They have an amazing barkada deals - even fit for the entire family. It's a nice hang out place, however, it sucks that they don't have FREE Wifi - or maybe I just didn't ask? HAHAHA Nonetheless, I love SWENSEN'S and would definitely keep coming back! :)

** Had I known this place back when I was in college, I would've stayed here para tumambay!! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Visit Swensen's at the SM Mall of Asia at the ground floor south wing near the Department Store. Same side as the SMX Convention Center. For more details, check out their Facebook page: Swensen's Philippines!
