Bangus with Cheese

The other day I bought 2 Dinaing na bangus at SM Supermarket and decided to cook one of them today for my super late BRUNCH (I woke up 1pm - cheers to the LONG WEEKEND!)

Anyways, since we didn't have tomatoes for garnishing, I decided to add cheese for an exciting twist. Surprisingly, it went well for me. I thought the sourness and saltiness of the Bangus (or Milkfish) go well with the creaminess of the cheese. I loved it!

PS: Apologies for the crappy photo. :D

Nilagang Baboy

Just how I want my "Nilaga" to be: ma-Gabi, ma-gulay, may corn and it must be pork.

Sampling a Taste of French Baker's French Macaroons

I was so ecstatic to finally get to taste this French Baker French Macaroons for too long that I tried my very best to leave work earlier that I used to. Anyways, this must have been posted several months ago, but I've been to occupied doing other things.

Honestly, this is not the taste of french macaroons I expected. I thought each color had their own flavor, but they don't. I was disappointed and will never but one of these again. Anyhow, should you have any thoughts on French Baker's version of French Macaroons different from mine, you can always, leave a comment and convince me otherwise - and I might just try them again. :)

Pinoy Style Porkchop

Well, this may not be the typical "Pinoy-Style" Porkchop you had in mind, but this is my Typical Porkchop. Marinated and Fried (not toasted). The meat is tender and tasty. I like it this way. :D

Villa Escudero's Buffet

So I was invited by a friend to go to Villa Escudero with them 2 weekends ago - but I'd like to post my thoughts on my other blog for this one. However, I'd like to share with you the BUFFET experience I've had when we were there!

The buffet was probably unlike the usual fancy buffets I've ever been to. Well to be honest, I've never been to a lot of buffets - but most of the buffets that I know of or have seen before were kind of not like this one. :D

They have a very traditional "Pinoy na Pinoy style" buffet. Probably the kind of those you might see in Fiestas in the province. I'm not trying to mock them, but it was just interesting and made me feel at home lang. :D

They served typical "ULAM PINOY" which I loved so much most especially the "Kalabasa at Sitaw sa Gata" which I swear was sooo damn goooood! Ugh!

The meal might be typical, but the ambiance was definitely not! Tables were set meter away from the bottom of the falls, and our feet were soaked in running water which was definitely amazing!

Like a supposedly typical meal, (because we don't really do this at home: appetizer-main course-dessert thing) starting off with the APPETIZERS:

And then the MAIN COURSE: Rice, Pancit Bihon, Roasted Chicken (unseasoned or so, but it was kinda bland), Kalabasa & Sitaw on Gata, Pork Liempo, Soup, Kaldereta,

Finally, the DESSERT! Fruits and Banana Cue

MY PLATE! :D

 Kuya serving the Buko Juice!

Thought these guys were performers.

So here we are!

Moshi Manju

Moshi Manju is one of the many food stalls in SM Megamall which has an interesting treat for all of us. Hmmmm.

It's KOREAN version of the Japanese Pancakes! However, these pancakes include Dulce de Leche / Yema fillings!! Super Yummy! :D

(Kindly excuse my dirty nails here. Eew.)

My good friend Jacky who introduced us to Moshi Manju and sponsored these for us! :D

The Yummy Dulce de Leche filling... Argh!

Bite SIZE!!!

Though they have  a stall in SM Magamall, these are probably one of the cheapest "PAMPABUSOGS" if you just wanna stroll the mall and if you're on a very very tight budget.

These delicious treats only costs:
  • P16 - 4 pieces
  • P30 - 8  pieces
  • P55 - 15 pieces
  • P85 - 24  pieces
The combination of the pancake and the filling is perfect so you don't get too fed up and then lose your appetite because it's not too sweet.

I'm not sure though if they have other branches elsewhere, but what I know for sure is that this stall is located in SM Megamall building A, Ground Floor. :D

Adobo 'to

ADOBO is probably the most popular Filipino dish and perhaps every Filipino's favorite! Like if I were asked what's my top 10 favorite food, I'd go for Adobo at the top of my head. Adobo is the perfect mixture of sweet, sour, salty and a little spicy. The ingredients make the Adobo really really unique and perfect to be paired with rice. Like everytime I'd eat Adobo, whatever man ang style, I must have RICE to go with it! It can stand alone, but if you want to feel completely satisfied, you should eat it with rice.

I have tasted several styles of Adobo - from my Auntie's Adobo (which I used to think was the best Adobo ever); then my Papa's Cebu Style Adobo (marinated with natural vinegar and just completely extract the oil from the pork); then my Boss' Mother's Adobo; and then there's ADOBO 'TO's Adobo.

All the photos that I have here is my FAVORITE ---- Cheesy Pork Adobo!
It may sound weird at first, especially for those who finds cheese weird - but  love cheese eh, plus I love Adobo - so it was kinda weird at first, but after putting it on my mouth, heavenly sensation lang talaga.

Actually the first time we visited their branch in Blessings, I ordered Sisig. It was a lot different from the normal sisig, for reasons I cannot recall. I've had those last year pa during our internship in college. Their sisig was good - it's just too bad they don't offer it on their Strata branch coz' their booth is right beside a sisig store. I would've wanted them to offer it padin kasi ang chaka nung sisig sa kabila eeh. Hahahaha. I mean, my type of Sisig kasi is yung mala'Gerry's Grill or Gilligan's na sisig - crispy na medyo moist. Oh well.

The Adobo Meal comes with atsara (?) and egg...

The Verdict: 4.5/5 - I have always been coming back for more since my first time with it. I have even research about their other locations, asked questions on their Facebook page to check if they have a branch near our office - and they do!! The day after, I went to Strata and found 'em! Their Adobo is so unique and tasty - that I have even advertised about it's goodness to my officemates and relatives and to almost everyone I meet na naghahanap ng masarap na food. Another thing I have realized is the egg is a good neutralizer especially when the Adobo is too salty (plus the cheese pa). I kind of slice them into pieces (shown in the photo above) and mix it with the Adobo - and for me, it's heaven!! Aargh! As I am writing this now, I could literally feel the chills, na parang I want to have this meal tomorrow! Hahahahahaha But seriously guys, you should try it. Maybe someday we'll be amazed they'll decide to open a couple more branches like what Mang Inasal did.

Recently though, since it has become a City Ordinance in Pasig to Ban Plastics, they put them on a paper-bowl thing which is kinda OKAY for me since the sauce in placed na on the rice.Sad thing lang is medyo konti nalang yung serving ng Adobo. Huhuhuhu Nonetheless, I still love ADOBO 'TO Cheesy Pork Adobo - kahit medyo hindi accomodating si Kuya na nagbabantay. Hikhikhik

Visit ADOBO 'TO in Blessings in Ayala, Makati, and Strata 2000 in Emerald St. Ortigas, Pasig City. For more info, visit their Facebook Page: Adobo 'to
